This project had four goals/areas of examination. Examine the current state of the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) implementation nationally and at partner sites. Examine the impediments and facilitators of successful implementation of NIBIN. Understand the extent to which NIBIN helps identify suspects and increase arrests for firearms crimes. Understand best practices for the implementation of NIBIN at agencies and for criminal investigations.
