In an effort to raise awareness and incite behavior change around watershed and stormwater-related issues the District Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) created the Community Stormwater Solutions Grants program. Launched in 2016, this program provides funding for community-oriented projects that improve water quality and raise awareness about the impacts of stormwater runoff on District water bodies. The program provides up to $20,000 per grant and is offered on a yearly basis, pending fund availability. During the first year, DOEE received 35 proposals and awarded nine grants totaling $156,000. Agency Website.
