This datset details how HSI's Strategy for Combating Illicit Opioids leverages HSI's experience and unique investigative authorities for combating TCOs. HSI aims to reduce the harm illicit opioids have on U.S. communities. rnrnOperation ORION aligns with the goals and strategies set forth in the Strategy for Combating Illicit Opioids. In FY 2024, HSI increased the number of Border Enforcement Security Task Forces (BESTs), Fentanyl Abatement and Suppression Teams (FASTs), and Fentanyl Overdose Resolution Teams (FORTs) and placed them in strategic locations to support HSI's nationwide fentanyl and fentanyl-related substance supply reduction strategy.
