2023 Disproportionately Impacted Areas

This dataset lists census tracts that are approved for identification as disproportionately impacted areas, according to Public Act 23-79, An Act Concerning Cannabis Regulation. "Disproportionately impacted area" means on and after August 1, 2023, a United States census tract in this state that has been identified by the Social Equity Council by using (1) a poverty rate metric and (2) ranking of historical conviction rates for drug-related offenses by census tract. This list of disproportionately impacted areas is expected to be considered by the Social Equity Council at the August 1, 2023 meeting.
