A high-throughput, automated technique for microplastic detection, quantification, and characterization in surface waters using laser direct infrared spectroscopy

Published by U.S. EPA Office of Research and Development (ORD) | U.S. Environmental Protection Agency | Metadata Last Checked: August 02, 2025 | Last Modified: 2022-01-31
Raw LDIR exported data for microplastics including the surface water samples, air blanks, Super-Q blanks, and field blanks. The aspect ratios determined from the shape standards are included. Additionally, the FTIR and LDIR spectra of polymers are included. This dataset is associated with the following publication: Whiting, Q.T., K.F. O'Connor, P.M. Potter, and S.R. Al-Abed.
