Acoustic Camera Debris Imaging - Tanana River Test Site 2025
This data is raw acoustic camera recordings from two different acoustic cameras deployed in the Tanana River at the University of Alaska Fairbanks's (UAF's) Tanana River Test Site near Nenana, Alaska. The purpose of this data collection is to develop and train algorithms to identify debris in turbid waters and predict the likelihood of impact with a hydrokinetic turbine.
Imaging data was collected using two acoustic camera systems (1) the BlueView M900-2250-S130/45 Mk2 and (2) the Gemini 1200ik. Various camera configurations and orientations were tested and artificial debris targets were introduced. The artificial debris targets for this data set included ABS pipe, PVC pipe, plywood, and "rain stick" assemblies.
This submission includes detailed notes on camera configurations, target materials, deployment conditions, testing observations, and raw acoustic imaging data for both camera systems. The raw acoustic imaging data may require proprietary or open-source viewers compatible with BlueView and Gemini data files.
