Published by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 25, 2026 | Last Modified: 2025-08-26T00:00:00Z
File geodatabase containing a polyline layer, denoting the areas surveyed, and an observation layer, denoting points where butterfly observations were made, during pollard walks to survey butterflies in the state of Alaska. Transects should be approximately 2 kilometers in length and include survey metadata such as the crew present, start and end dates and times, and environmental conditions at the start and end of the survey. Observations are taken when butterflies are observed and included information such as whether the butterfly was captured, how many of the given species were present at the observation location, species of butterfly observed, and other comments about the habitat or sighting event. All data for this survey are collected via a QuickCapture application and quality control is conducted through a web experience.
