Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 27, 2026 | Last Modified: 2021-01-06T00:00:00Z
These water-use estimates represent the total amount of groundwater used for aquaculture and irrigation purposes within the Mississippi Alluvial Plain during each water year (October 1 - September 30). These totals are a summation of water use for aquaculture, cotton, corn, rice, soybeans, and all other crops for water years 2000 to 2017. Units are in cubic meters per square mile. This dataset is formatted as a NetCDF file, with each water year as a separate raster array table, and intended for modeling applications.
