"description": "Channel depletion estimates for the v201705 version. Although this is not the current official release, it is otherwise the "vanilla" form of the channel depletion model. It has no seasonal outflow adjustment to reconcile with USGS gages. It includes the standard estimate of water body evaporation and hence will "double count" evaporation if used in conjunction with separate evaporation data. When the heat exchange module is enabled in SCHISM (which calculates evaporation) we use a "noevap" version.",

The flux file assumes the American River is independent of the Sacramento, which is generally only how we handle runs with temperature. The cold content of the American is important for temperature validation, but the American extension can be ignored (lumped with Sac) for tide and salinity modeling. The effect on sediment is still being evaluated.",
