Bias correction of simulated historical daily streamflow at ungauged locations by using independently estimated flow-duration curves: Data release

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 27, 2026 | Last Modified: 2020-08-26T00:00:00Z
This dataset contains the observed and simulated streamflow used to produce the results of the journal article entitled “Bias correction of Retrospective Simulation of Daily Streamflow at Ungauged Locations Using Independently Estimated Flow-Duration Curves ”. Observed streamflow, retrieved from the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Water Information System (https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis) in Spring of 2017, is included in comma-separated-values files (CSVs) as cubic feet per second. These CSVs also contain computed nonexceedance probabilities and streamflows estimated with pooled, ordinary kriging, with and without bias correction. CSVs of streamflow duration curves (fdc) are also provided. A streamflow and fdc CSV file is provided for each of the 18 2-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) areas (HUC 10 is split into 10U and 10L) and the 19 file names are labeled by HUC. An R-script is included; it is capable of recreating the result of the source paper cited above. A README file describes how these results can be interpreted and reproduced.
