bios_minnie-20250403T2117
The purpose of this mission is to profile the water column near HydrosStation 'S' from the onset of stratification in spring seeking the turbulent mixing phenomenon associated with large salp blooms observed in previous years. This glider is carrying a CTD, ECO-puck, and optode which will deliver data in real-time including temperature, salinity, chlorophyll-a, backscatter, dissolved oxygen, and nitrate. A second glider, deployed in tandem with this one, is equipped with a microstructure turbulence sensor. Both vehicles will remain in the water through the end of May to provide support to the annual BIOS-SCOPE cruise scheduled for May 15-20.
