Paleontologic Information and Data includes publicly releasable biostratigraphic and paleobathymetric summary information on active and expired fields and leases in the Gulf of America. The foraminiferal, coccolith, dinoflagellate, ostracod, radiolarian and pollen biostratigraphic markers are placed in a chronologic, chronostratigraphic and chronozonal context as determined by the BOEM Resource Evaluation biostratigrapher (see Biostratigraphic Chart of the Gulf of America Offshore Region, Jurassic to Quaternary). This Offshore Biostratigraphic Chart is BOEMs reference section of paleoevents (marker extinctions, increases and acmes) and preferred taxonomy synthesized from differing biostratigraphic charts in use by oil industry paleontologic consultants and operators. Summary reports submitted to the Federal Government from operators are translated according to the taxonomy and paleoevents found on the BOEM Offshore Biostratigraphic Chart, available below as PDF or ASCII downloads. The original industry-submitted summary reports, detailed sample descriptions and metadata are available from the File Request System Well Data Query: https://www.data.bsee.gov/Other/FileRequestSystem/WellData.aspx
