This dataset contains the seawater data (dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, and nutrients) collected from seven Northern Gulf of America Sediment Trap cruises (GMT-1 through 7). GMT-1 took place December 5-7, 2021 aboard the R/V Pelican. GMT-2 took place May 14-16, 2022 aboard the R/V Weatherbird II. GMT-3 took place November 29-December 1, 2022 aboard the R/V Pelican. GMT-4 took place May 27-June 2, 2023 aboard the R/V Weatherbird II. GMT-5 took place November 29-December 1, 2023 aboard the R/V Pelican. GMT-6 took place September 23-25, 2024 aboard the R/V Pelican. GMT-7 took place May 21-27, 2025 aboard the R/V Weatherbird II. In total, 84 bottles were collected on the seven cruises. Each cruise also involved the deployment and/or retrieval of a sediment trap at a depth of 550 meters. The purpose of the seawater and sediment samples was to characterize the biological carbon pump using environmental DNA, particle fluxes, and physical and chemical parameters, to identify OA impacts to microbial and planktonic communities in the Northern Gulf. The work conducted on this cruise was supported by the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program.
