Collection of Pesticides and Other Water Quality Analytical Data from Selected Hydrogeologic Regions of Pennsylvania (ver. 2.0, September 2025)

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 27, 2026 | Last Modified: 2025-09-03T00:00:00Z
These datasets contain all publicly available analytical data collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) by the Pennsylvania Pesticides in Vulnerable Groundwaters program between 2021 and 2024. Additional analytical data will be appended following the conclusion of each sampling season. All data is made publicly available in the on-line National Water Information System (NWIS). The Pennsylvania Pesticides in Vulnerable Groundwater program is a long running cooperative effort between USGS and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA). USGS and PDA have sampled for pesticides and a variety of other constituents in domestic groundwater at locations around the state since 2003. Sampling is completed each year in a predetermined hydrogeologic region with an emphasis on agricultural areas. Data from sampling prior to 2021 is not included due to the limited analytical suite that was in use at the time; analytical data from this time can be accessed through NWIS and the Water Quality Portal (WQP).
