Cedar River Watershed Cultural Landscape District boundary. Recognized by the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP) this is the boundary of an 'Historic Site', described as 'a landscape significant for its association with a historic event, activity or person'. DAHP states: 'Cultural Landscapes provide a sense of place and identity; they map our relationship with the land over time; and they are part of our national heritage and each of our lives. They are sites associated with a significant event, activity, person or group of people and can range in size from thousands of acres of rural land to historic homesteads.' The Cultural Landscape District Boundary in the Cedar River Municipal Watershed was created in the early 2000's. It was informed in part by the location of known historic sites at the time.
