Data and code to support MOVE.1 regression equations for streamflow at partial-record streamgaging stations at Acadia National Park, Maine

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 07, 2026 | Last Modified: 2023-02-24T00:00:00Z
This data release contains instantaneous streamflow measurements made at 14 partial-record streamgaging stations in Acadia National Park from May through September 2006 to 2020. It includes R code to support Maintenance of Variance Extension Type 1 (MOVE.1) record-extension regression equations for 10 of those partial-record stations that can be used to extend the record of the partial-record station during base-flow conditions using an index station, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) continuous-record streamgage Otter Creek near Bar Habor, Maine (USGS 01022840). An additional four partial-record stations did not correlate well with any continuous-record station tested. The R code was used to develop MOVE.1 record-extension equations and compute mean and median monthly streamflows at 10 of the 14 partial-record stations Partial-record stations were established in 2006 as part of the Northeast Temperate Network (NETN) monitoring program. Tables that accompany a USGS Scientific Investigations Report (Lombard, 2023) that documents the methods and results of the MOVE.1 record extensions are included in this data release and include a summary of continuous-record stations tested for use as index stations, partial-record stations, MOVE.1 equations, and monthly means and medians at the partial-record stations.
