Data for methane gas ebullition dynamics from different wetland vegetation communities in Big Cypress National Preserve (Florida) evaluated using a multi-method, multi-scale approach

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 27, 2026 | Last Modified: 2021-07-15T00:00:00Z
This dataset consists of methane flux data collected with eddy covariance methods; and methane ebullition data collected with gas traps, time-lapse cameras, and capacitance probe measurements. Inferred bubble production and soil volumetric gas content data from capacitance probe measurements also are included. These data were collected from July to November 2016 at two forested wetlands in Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida. Gas trap, time-lapse camera, and capacitance probe data were collected at platforms located within the source area of each eddy covariance tower in forested wetlands. Each platform consisted of an array of gas traps, one time-lapse camera, and one capacitance probe. The location (geographic coordinates, in degrees-minutes-seconds) of the platforms for data collection were - Site 1a (25°49' 20.16" N, 81° 6' 6.45" W); Site 1b (25°49' 20.70" N, 81° 6' 19.88" W); Site 2a (25°45' 42.70" N, 80° 53' 36.23" W); Site 2b (25° 45' 42.91" N, 80° 53' 39.52" W).
