The population estimate for the western Yukon Flats in Game Management Unit (GMU) 25D (2,269 square miles) was 668 moose with a certainty of +/- 24% at the 90% confidence interval. The density estimate was 0.29 moose per square mile. Estimated bull:cow, yearling bull:cow, and calf:cow ratios for the survey area were 52:100, 9:100, and 27:100, respectively. Estimated proportions of bulls, cows, and calves were 29%, 56%, and 15%, respectively. Search times averaged 6.1 minutes per square mile.
