Diversion Tonnage Composition

Purpose: This data set exists in order to provide a breakdown of quantities of different material types in the residential stream. Source: All measure data is tracked internally through the Solid Waste Tracking System (SWTS) and through third-party vendor reports. Contains: The tonnage for various load compositions or service types (e.g. curbside recycling), focusing on the amount of materials diverted from landfills by month. Usage: This data is used to establish monthly trends in the types of materials in the recycling stream. This data provides the department with a better understanding of public consumption. In addition, it helps identify types of materials that are contaminates. By identifying contaminates Austin Resource Recovery can customize public education to ensure the public is putting materials in the right cart.
