This study of Minidoka National Wildlife Refuge included development of a vegetation classification, map and database using the Federal Standard National Vegetation Classification System. This reference only contains the data collected under contract with NatureServe and is the data that is associated with the devised classification standard and key. The dataset is a Shapefile and includes sample identifiers and observer notes and identifiers. Vegetation samples included information on dominant species, cover height and percent cover. Minidoka NWR initiated a vegetation mapping project based on the US National Vegetation Classification System. With the help of NatureServe, a preliminary classification and key was created for the refuge. The refuge continued data collection for two subsequent years [to the EIA] and under a contract with SWCA, a vegetation map was developed using NVC classes and also including cheat grass distribution.
