Electric field, temperature, conductivity, and other data were collected from the ATLANTIS II. Data were collected by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) from 14 November 1971 to 21 November 1971. Electric field was recorded every half-second and temperature and conductivity were recorded every second from a freely-falling, then rising rotating vehicle in the deep ocean. Using a computer program QDEM, the electric field data is vectorially demodulated by least-squares fitting to cosine and sine functions at the rotation period. East and north components of water velocity are derived for each electrode pair. PROFEQ, another program, interpolates QDEM data resulting with an equally spaced pressure series. The data transmitted has been filtered vertically with a 90-decibar triangular filter.
