TRASNA (TRASNA: Transocean Survey North Atlantic). Coverage includes a swath of multibeam data parallel to the Atlantic Transect acquired in 2015. the primary focus of the survey was on a previously identified seabed feature in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The survey was conducted between May 12th and May 21 and consist of a single transit line collected from St. Johns to Galway. Survey was conducted at high speed of 10-12 kt due to time constrains and the need to reach the priority area in the Mid Atlantic Ridge (MAR) where sampling and video drops were acquired. The passage was affected by severe inclement weather who affected multibeam quality of the inital few days. Quality then became better in proximity of the Mid Atlantic Ridge but nevertheless multibeam quality is moderate to poor. Weather improved on the second half of the passage allowing the collection of good multibeam data. At the MAR location, 1 hour video drop camera and few dredge samples were also collected. Further survey work was carried out on the Porcupine Bank area where Chirp and Sparker data were acquired to improve the knowledge about the glacial hystory of the Porcupine.
