This EnviroAtlas dataset measures accessibility (i.e., proximity or nearness) of public outdoor recreational areas within an 800 meter walk (approximately 1/2 mile or 10-minute walk) along walkable routes and availability as the area of outdoor recreational space provided per person who can access it. This dataset was produced by the US EPA to support research and online mapping activities related to EnviroAtlas. EnviroAtlas (https://www.epa.gov/enviroatlas) allows the user to interact with a web-based, easy-to-use, mapping application to view and analyze many datasets related to ecosystem services. The dataset is available as downloadable data or as an EnviroAtlas map service.
