Ground, vessel, and photographic Northern Elephant Seal counts collected on the Pacific coast of North America from 1981 to 2023 (NCEI Accession 0307611)
Ground, vessel, and aerial counts of northern elephant seals at breeding sites in California and the California Channel Islands. Aerial surveys were conducted at 800-1400ft above ground level (AGL) with either film or digital camera and analyzed post survey by creating mosaics and counting individuals with 1-3 observers. Counts for northern elephant seals are collated into one CSV.
