HAVO CCC Construction 1934-1942

During the Great Depression, local men from Hawaiʻi were recruited to work on projects to conserve natural resources and build public infrastructure as a part of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Many of the projects they worked on have a lasting impact to this day. The resources for this StoryMap allow the public to learn more about their experiences in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. This content was created in 2025 and is maintained by Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park Cultural Resource Management staff.
