An independent adjuster is a person who is licensed pursuant to Iowa code chapter 522C and does all of the following: -Contracts, either directly or through a firm or third-party administrator, for compensation with insurers or self-insurers, and is treated by the insurer or self-insurer as an independent contractor and not as an employee as that term is described in 26 C.F.R. §31.3121(d)(1). -Investigates, negotiates, or settles property, casualty, or workers’ compensation claims for insurers or for self-insurers. This dataset contains a listing of licensed resident and non-resident independent adjusters.
