This dataset contains no digital representation of the data described in the document 'Inshore Survey Results: Approaches to New York Harbor, Fall 1955'. A current survey in the approaches to New York Harbor was initiated 06 September 1955 and continued through 04 November 1955. This survey was conducted in accordance with the specifications as set forth in Hydrographic Office letter, ser 5883, of 18 August 1955. The purpose of the survey was to determine the currents in the approaches to New York Harbor. The area surveyed was within a twelve mile radius of Sandy hook, New Jersey.
