The POLITICAL_POINT data set contains human-use or management resource data for coast guard units in Lake Michigan. The POLITICAL_POLY data set contains human-use or management resource data for tribal land boundaries in Lake Michigan. The POLITICAL_LINE data set contains human-use or management resource data for tribal land boundary lines and state borders in Lake Michigan. Location specific type and source information are stored in relational data tables (described below) designed to be used in conjunction with this spatial data layer. These data sets comprise a portion of the ESI data for Lake Michigan. ESI data characterize the marine and coastal environments and wildlife by their sensitivity to spilled oil. The ESI data include information for three main components: shoreline habitats, sensitive biological resources, and human-use resources.
