Published by NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Commerce | Metadata Last Checked: January 26, 2026 | Last Modified: 2022-04-20T00:00:00.000+00:00
Water quality data was collected by the United States Army Corp of Engineers at numerous locations along the shore of Lake Ponchartrain and the Tangipahoa River in Louisiana from May to September 2020. The samples were collected repeatedly at 6 locations. The parameters collected include ammonia, phosphorus, chlorophyll, phycocyanin, microcystin, silica, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, dissolved oxygen percent saturation, depth, pH, total dissolved solids, total organic content, salinity, specific conductance, and plankton cell counts. These data were used to monitor the water quality of commonly used beaches and swimming areas. These data are in spreadsheet format.
