Micro-environmental study of soil temperature and moisture in proximity to logs during forest thinning and slash burning
This data set was generated during a 7-year study of soil micro-environmental dynamics of temperature and moisture at 3 soil depths (10, 20 and 30 cm) beneath and adjacent to logs. Four logs were instrumented with soil temperature and moisture sensors, and an associated weather station. Two logs were controls, and two were subjected to forest thinning and subsequent slash burning. 2015-2017 = pretreatment; 2018-2019 = post-thinning; 2020-2022 = post-fire. See journal article from FORESTS for details and results.
