This dataset contains imagery, GPS coordinates, elevation data, types of vegetation, and sediment characteristics collected from Fishing Battery Island. This island was revisited to evaluate long-term performance post-restoration. The data collected for assessment is stored in one .tif file and three .csv files. The .tif file consists of an ortho mosaic image, captured using a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone. The .csv files contain detailed gps data, observed vegetation, and sediment core information, including bulk density and percent carbon. The Trimble R12 GNSS System was utilized to capture the GPS data for types of vegetation, sediment cores, ground control points (used for georeferencing drone imagery), and the topography of the island. A total of three sediment cores were extracted by driving a 7 cm diameter polycarbonate tube into the ground. Sediment cores were further analyzed at the lab to determine sediment characteristics. To determine bulk density, the cores were sectioned into 5cm intervals and dried. The dried section was weighed and bulk density was calculated using weight divided by volume. The dried sediment was subsampled to measure percent carbon with a Perkin Elmer 2400 series II CHNS/O elemental analyzer. More information on this site can be found here: https://arcg.is/08Oirb0
