Near-surface temperature - SUCR - 3-24-2022

This was a test of equipment and methodology prior to remote field work. We inserted the probes of temperature data loggers into the cinder-covered surface within a scene being observed by a FLIR thermal camera. The temperature probes record near-surface temperatures while the thermal camera records at-surface temperatures. Comparisons between the 2 thermal datasets can be used for calibration and to determine physical properties such as thermal conductivity.
