These data are a collection of natural color (RGB) and color infrared (IR) ortho images from selected coastal bays of Texas. The actual project boundary located within this area is comprised of 6 areas along the coast of the state of Texas including Corpus Christi Bay (app. 356 square miles), Redfish Bay (app. 62 square miles), Aransas Bay (app. 285 square miles), Copano Bay (app. 158 square miles), Upper Laguna Madre (app. 313 square miles), and Baffin Bay (app. 232 square miles). A total of 762 orthos (381 natural color and 381 color infrared) were produced to cover this area. Aerial imagery was collected in panchromatic, Red, Green, Blue and Near Infrared which yielded a natural color and false color infrared version of the completed digital orthophotography. For this dataset, the natural color and color infrared orthoimages were reprocessed at 0.50-meter pixel resolution. Each digital orthorectified quarter quad provides imagery for a nominal 3.75 by 3.75 minute area corresponding to the USGS quarter quad boundaries. This data supports the Texas' Seagrass Monitoring Program which calls for regional mapping of SAVs for status and trends assessment. The NOAA Coastal Services Center, Texas A and M, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department coordinated on the requirements of this project.
