Published by Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System (PacIOOS) | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Commerce | Metadata Last Checked: January 27, 2026 | Last Modified: 2015-09-22T00:00:00.000+00:00
A 40-m resolution gridded digital elevation model (DEM) for the bathymetry (ocean depth) surrounding Two Percent Bank in American Samoa compiled from ship-borne multibeam sonar surveys. Two Percent Bank (also called Tulaga Seamount) lies approximately 70 km southeast of Tutuila and 60 km southwest of Ofu Island. Almost complete bottom coverage was achieved in depths between 78 and 2221 m. Data collected by the Pacific Islands Benthic Habitat Mapping Center (PIBHMC) in support of NOAA's Coral Reef Conservation Program. Not to be used for navigational purposes. For a grayscale hillshade image layer of this dataset, see "as_pibhmc_two_bathy40m_hillshade" in the distribution links listed in the metadata.
