The main purpose of this cruise was to observe the bottom of Mariana Trench through operating test for a newly developed full depth underwater system. A chemical survey was also carried out with multi sensors (hydrogen, hydrogen-sulfide, oxygen, methane) equipped on the system. Also includes bathymetry and oceanographic survey. Cruise data are available from the JAMSTEC DARWIN portal, see the Documentation. This dataset is U.S. State Department MSR U2016-033 as part of the World Data Service for Geophysics and Oceanography.
