Oceanographic temperature and salinity measurements collected using drifting buoys in the Arctic Ocean. Data from JAMSTEC drifting buoys which were deployed both as part of the North Pole Environmental Observatory during 2003-2005 and during the Healy trans-Arctic cruise in 2005. The data files contain J-CAD 6 (NPEO 2003), 8 (NPEO 2004), 9 (NPEO 2005), and 10 (Healy trans-Arctic cruise in 2005). For 2006, JAMSTEC deployed new ice-drifting buoys, the Polar Ocean Profiling System (POPS), near the North Pole as part of the NPEO 2006 as well as the previous years. The POPS is similar to J-CAD but uses Argo floats as ocean sensors.
