Published by National Aeronautics and Space Administration | National Aeronautics and Space Administration | Metadata Last Checked: August 03, 2025 | Last Modified: 2025-07-17
The dataset include simultaneous imaging obtained at the MMT in the infrared (H-band, 1.65 micron) and visible (unfiltered, approximately 0.24-1.24 micron) of Pluto occulting the star P445.3 (2UCAC 25823784) on 2007 March 18. The measurements included in the dataset were obtained continuously from 10:10:00 to 11:30:00 UTC. The midpoint of the occultation, at the MMT, was 10:53:49+/-00:01. The event was grazing and gives information about the atmosphere of Pluto to a depth of 1348 km above the surface. Images from the other observing sites for this event are not contained within this dataset, however lightcurve tables are included.
