Patent AT-E400322-T1: [Translated] DYE FOR KERATIN FIBERS CONTAINING N-(2-HYDROXYBENZENE) CARBAMAT OR N-(2-HYDROXYBENZENE) UREA DERIVATIVES AS COUPLERS AND DYEING PROCESSES

Published by National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) | U.S. Department of Health & Human Services | Metadata Last Checked: September 07, 2025 | Last Modified: 2025-09-06
Composition (A) for oxidation dyeing of keratin fibers comprises at least one oxidation base (II) and, as coupler, at least one N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-carbamate or -urea derivative (I), or their acid addition salts. The couplers are of formula (I); R1 = hydrogen or a 1-15C linear or branched group (the branches may form one or more carbocyclic rings with 3-7 members), optionally containing one or more multiple bonds (optionally forming aromatic groups) and with one or more carbons replaced by oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur or sulfonyl, and the carbon atoms are optionally independently substituted by one or more halo, provided that a sulfonyl is not attached to the nitrogen atom shown and that R1 does not contain a peroxide bond nor diazo, nitro or nitroso group; X = OR5 or NR6R7; R groups = variously hydrogen, substituents or together form rings, subject to certain provisos; Y = hydrogen, halo, OR8, SR8 or NHSO2R8; R8 = 1-8C linear or branched alkyl (branches may form one or more rings of 3-6 members), optionally substituted by one or more of halo, hydroxy, 1-4C alkoxy, amino or 1-4C alkylamino; phenyl (optionally substituted by one or two of 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, carboxy, 1-4C alkoxycarbonyl, halo, hydroxy, amino or 1-4C alkylamino) or benzyl. The full definitions are given in the DEFINITIONS (Full Definitions) Field. Independent claims are also included for: (a) method for dyeing keratin fibers, especially human hair, by application of (A) and development of color with an oxidizing agent; and (b) dyeing kit containing, in separate containers, (A) and the oxidizing agent.
