1. A single-spindle or multi-spindle deep boring machine having a tool change device characterised in that the device (7) is formed by cylindrically arranged receiving tubes (8), wherein along a part of the length of the receiving tubes (8) the cross-section thereof is removed over an angle of somewhat more than 180 degrees, in such a way that for the purposes of receiving a deep boring tool (3, 3') perpendicularly to the axis of the receiving tube (8), wherein the inside diameter thereof is substantially equal to the diameter of the deep boring tool (3, 3'), an open half-shell is formed, from which the deep boring tool can be pushed into the remaining part in the axial direction of the receiving tube (8).
