Patent AT-E400994-T1: [Translated] ELEMENTS AND WATER RETENTION PILLOWS, THEIR PRODUCTION PROCESSES AND APPLICATIONS

Published by National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) | U.S. Department of Health & Human Services | Metadata Last Checked: September 07, 2025 | Last Modified: 2025-09-06
The invention concerns water retention elements comprising a water-permeable material adapted to absorb water and to gradually release absorbed water in a dry environment such as an insufficiently watered soil. The permeable material (2, 22) has interspersed gaps (3) for retaining water and is enclosed in an envelope much less permeable to water. The invention also concerns methods for making and using said water retention elements for humidifying crops or plants growing above a soil or basement which is dry or fast losing its moisture, and for producing a barrier between a cultivable fill soil and a porous basement unsuited for water retention.
