Patent AT-E401182-T1: [Translated] METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A TOOL AND DEVICE THEREFOR
Each tiebar(2) guiding the moving tool-carrying platen(3) has an adjuster(4) linked to a central drive unit for axial adjustment of the platen relative to a tiebar. A locking mechanism(7) prevents play in the form of axial and rotational movement of adjusters after setting a required position. An Independent claim is made for a method for eliminating play in a tool installation height adjuster in which the adjusters(4) are rotated around the tiebars to adjust the platen and then the adjuster is locked in position by actuation of the locking mechanism. Preferred Features: The locking mechanism comprises a piston which may be hydraulically, pneumatically or mechanically operated. Operation is effected through the machine control unit.
