Patent AT-E401225-T1: [Translated] AUTOMATIC CENTER BUFFER COUPLING WITH AN ANTENNA FOR WIRELESS SIGNAL TRANSMISSION

Published by National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) | U.S. Department of Health & Human Services | Metadata Last Checked: September 07, 2025 | Last Modified: 2025-09-06
An automatic central buffer coupling has signal transmission device (2) comprising coupling element (5) and counter-coupling element (5'). The coupling element is integrated in contact plate (4) of first coupling head (3) and the counter-coupling element is integrated in contact plate (4') of second coupling head (3') such that face side of coupling element is arranged opposite the face side of the counter-coupling element. The coupling element and the counter-coupling element each has antenna member (6, 6') comprising a disc monopole antenna configured to transmit data in GHz frequency range. An automatic central buffer coupling for a multimembered vehicle comprises a first coupling head of a first car body, and a second coupling head of a second car body. The first coupling head comprises a coupling element and a first contact plate. The second coupling head comprises a counter-coupling element and a second contact plate. A signal transmission device transmits electric and/or electronic signals between the first car body and the second car body, and comprises the coupling element and the counter-coupling element. The first coupling head and the second coupling head are configured such that a frictional connection can be produced in the coupled state between them. The coupling element is integrated in the first contact plate and the counter-coupling element is integrated in the second contact plate such that a face side of the coupling element is arranged in a contact plane common to the first coupling head and the second coupling head opposite a face side of the counter-coupling element. The coupling element comprises at least one antenna member arranged in the first contact plate, and the counter-coupling element comprises at least one antenna member arranged in the second contact plate. The antenna members of the coupling element and the counter-coupling element are configured such that a clearance results between them when the first coupling head and the second coupling head are in the coupled state. Each of the antenna members comprises a disc monopole antenna configured to transmit data in the GHz frequency range. Each of the antenna members is configured such that the total attenuation occurring during data transmission does not exceed 77 dB. Coaxial cables couple the antenna members to the electronic units, and comprise RG-213 coaxial cable having an N-type plug and socket.
