The
Town of Chapel Hill Stormwater Management Division (TOCH-SWMD) provides these
data for the purposes of research, education, environmental review, assessment,
and project planning. The use of TOCH-SWMD data should not be substituted
for actual field surveys. Conditions on the ground should be verified before
any land use decisions are made based on TOCH-SWMD data.
Hydrology (stream and waterbody)
classifications are only valid for a period of five (5) years since the date of
the last site visit. If a stream or waterbody has not been visited within
five years of the “verified date” a new site visit is needed.
Stream
classifications are used to determine the applicability of the Town’s stream
buffer regulations. Wetlands data are incomplete and should not be used
for jurisdictional determinations.
TOCH-SWMD
makes no warranties as to the completeness and accuracy of the data
presented. The accuracy and completeness of TOCH-SWMD data frequently
depends on the date and purpose of the data.
