Suspended sediment concentration and loads in the Nooksack River Basin, northwest Washington

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 27, 2026 | Last Modified: 2020-08-27T00:00:00Z
This data release contains time series data of suspended-sediment concentration and loads determined at five USGS streamgages in the Nooksack River Basin, Whatcom County, Washington: Nooksack River at Ferndale (12213100), Nooksack River at North Cedarville (12210700), North Fork Nooksack River below Cascade Creek near Glacier (12205000 ), Middle Fork Nooksack River near Deming (12208000), and South Fork Nooksack River at Saxon Road (12210000). For each streamgage, a 15- or 60-minute time series of suspended sediment concentration are computed from turbidity-based regression equations, and daily suspended sediment loads are calculated as the product of suspended sediment concentration and discharge multiplied by a unit conversion factor equal to 0.0864.
