Trends in Heroin Use in the United States: 2002 to 2013
This short report uses 2002 to 2013 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) to assess heroin-related trends in the United States among those aged 12 or older. Topics covered include past year heroin use, dependence and abuse, receipt of substance use treatment for herion use, heroin initiation, perceived risk from using heroin, and the perceived availability of heroin. Results are shown for those aged 12 or older and for three age groups within this population: adolescents aged 12 to 17, young adults aged 18 to 25, and 26 or older.
