Vegetation Classification of Plant Communities at Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge based on UNESCO system

The natural communities in Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge are being classified in accordance with the system developed by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in cooperation with state, federal, and academic partners. The Nature Conservancy classification is a modified version of the UNESCO vegetation classification system (UNESCO 1973). A single shapefile is provided that outlines the 14 plant communities described on the refuge. Data compliments the unpublished report (Schotz 2003 - ServCat 16154. Geospatial data are presented as a Shapefile and includes the meta data file. Data are presented as NAD 27 UTM
