Water physicochemical parameters of twenty Texas and New Mexico lakes 2022-2023 (ver. 2.0, December 2024)

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 27, 2026 | Last Modified: 2024-12-30T00:00:00Z
Water physicochemical parameters at reservoirs in western Texas and eastern New Mexico to collected to supplement publicly available datasets. Dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, specific conductance and temperature and turbidity were measured with a water quality probe (for 2022-2023 data, a Eureka Manta 2 or YSI Pro 2030) immersed to a depth of 0.3 meters. In 2022 and 2023, water samples were also collected from the same depth and analyzed using a Hach DR 3900 Spectrophotometer for the parameters of calcium, magnesium, total hardness, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus. Data collected between from 2008 and 2017 followed similar methods, but for details see cross referenced publications.
