Selected depth bathythermograph (SBT) data from CHOFU MARU, ECHIZEN, and others in the East China Sea, Japan Sea, and others from 1981-02-10 to 1983-02-27 (NCEI Accession 8500246)

This dataset includes selected depth bathythermograph (SBT) data from CHOFU MARU, ECHIZEN, ESAN, HOKKO MARU, ISUZU, KAIYO, KEIFU MARU, KOFU MARU, KOSHIKI, KUROBE, MASHU, MATSUSHIMA, MEIYO-MARU, NOTO, OJIKA, OKI, RYOFU MARU, SATSUMA, SEIFU MARU, SHINANO, SHIRETOKO, SHOYO, SHOYO MARU, SHUMPU MARU, SHUNYO MARU, SORACHI, SOYA, TAKUYO, TONAN-MARU, UNKNOWN PLATFORMS OF JAPAN, WAKASA, WAKATAKA MARU, YAHIKO, and YOKO-MARU in the East China Sea, Japan Sea, North Pacific Ocean, Philippine Sea, Sea of Okhotsk, and South Pacific Ocean from 1981-02-10 to 1983-02-27. Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard Selected Depth Bathythermograph (SBT) (C125) format. The UBT (C125) format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data records are comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. Depths are selected by the originator - usually at standard horizons or some fixed interval. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. Special instruments permitted measurements to be obtained to 1830 m.
