Published by National Park Service | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: January 25, 2026 | Last Modified: 2022-12-19T00:00:00Z
This feature layer shows all campsites that were removed and restored in 2000 within the geographic area of Dorothy Lake, located along the Pacific Crest Trail at the northwest boundary of Yosemite National Park, California. Campsites were treated and recorded as part of the ongoing Keep It Wild Project funded by Yosemite Conservancy and Hetch Hetchy - SFPUC. Crews document, maintain appropriate campsites, or remove and restore inappropriate campsites, to protect natural and cultural resources, as well as wilderness character. Crews collect data associated with each campsite including vegetation condition rating, distance to water, distance to trail, campsite size, elevation, location code, funding source, and more.
