This archive package contains estimates of the transport of the Yucatan Current generated by NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML). The Yucatan Current flows from the Caribbean Sea into the Gulf of Mexico, carrying the warm upper limb of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation and part of the return flow from the wind-driven subtropical gyre circulation in the North Atlantic. Estimates of the Yucatan Current transport are carried out by NOAA/AOML using satellite altimetry as the main dataset, and hydrographic observations.
